Left stranded in dark after a breakdown. No feedback from AA

I called AA on 1 November 2017 at around 18:20 to request roadside assistance for a flat battery. I explained that I am a member of the AA plus and I need security to wait with me. I was promised that they would call me back. I was not given a reference number. At around 7pm I had not heard from neither the AA nor the security company so I assumed I was not going to assisted by the AA and made another plan because it was getting dark. I called a motor mechanic for assistance. At around 7:22 the AA arrived unannounced after the mechanic already assisted me. While I was driving home I received a call from the security company wanting to know if I still needed assistance. AA needs to understand that if I am stuck after dark and request security I don't wait longer than 10 minutes for security. I was stranded all alone in a dark parking area after the other staff have all left the office and I felt unsafe. I am disappointed with the lack of communication from the AA as I was completely left in the dark ****erally and figuratively). I had no clue if I am going to be assisted or not. In the past the AA used to call me and update me regularly but it did not happen last night. I wrote to AA but I have not heard a response. In December my yearly contribution is due and I really need to know if I should renew my AA membership if the customer service is so poor
