Automobile Association gravy train!!

I've been a member of the Automobile Association for more than 30 years. They deduct my yearly subscription fees like clock work, every August. My membership card was lost quite a while ago. I requested a replacement over a year ago and I'm still waiting. Now I've decided to cancel my membership and guess what? They need my membership number. They can't find my account using my id number. The account carrying my id number on their system is shown as incomplete on their system!! Although I requested my membership to be cancelled a month ago, they still deducted my membership fees for the next year!! I'm pretty sure that should I have requested assistance on the road they would have declined seeing that I do not know my membership number and neither would they have found me on their system!! Is this service worth more than R5000.00 per annum for me and my wife? My advice to their customer base would be to cancel their membership as soon as possible. This is a company that's going down fast and you will pay for a service that does not exists!!
