All that is left of the AA is the name and a shockingly poor service

The AA stopped posting me newsletters about mid 2022. Then in January I got a call to remind me to renew my subsceiption. As I am now unable to drive I asked the lady to transfer the membership to my wife and gave her the details and she promised to send me a statement. When I got no reply I phoned their head office - same story and no reaction. I then left an email on their website and complained which resulted in a call from them about two weeks later and another promuse to send a new statement which I never received. My next attempt resulted in an email from them with their account details and an amount to be paid but no further details. When I enquired the receipt of the payment was acknowledged with an email which happened to show her membership number in the Subject line. I was then able to log in to my wife's profile end noted that several mistakes had been made which I promtly corrected by email and the lady at AA head office promised to correct these as I was not able to do the changes myself. The subscription included roadside assist but when we tried to install and test the celphone App today we got a call and were told that we had to provide details and pay the membership ass these were not recorded on their system. Nay I add that also in January I tried to get help from their stated agency in Pretoria "Voetspore 4x4" and the person answering the phone had no idea of where the AA office was but confirmed that it was not with them. All in all it would appear that the AA has all but disappeared and that their present dealings may be dubious - you have been warned!
