AA tow-truck damaged my vehicle

<p>At 11h50 on 18 April 2017 I phoned the AA from the Lansdown Shopping Centre because my clutch cable broke as I entered the parking area of the centre. The AA dispatched a tow truck that came and pulled my Golf Bakkie onto their tow-truck . The tow-truck dropped of my vehicle and myself at Spur Motors in Salt River Road for my clutch cable to be fixed. When the mechanic opened the bonnet of the Bakkie, he immediately saw that the radiator was lying loose against the engine. The mechanic proceeded to try to re-attach the radiator when he noticed that the front engine mounting has also been pulled out of the fron panel where it was supposed to be. He also showed me some torn bodywork where the towing vehicle had damaged the front of my Bakkie. The front bumber was also pulled completely out of alignment. the mechanic said that a body repair shop has to repair this type of damage.</p> <p>Later that day I sent an mail a number of emails to the AA to email addresses that I found on their website, but got no answers from them. I then started phoning the AA to get someone who could help me with my damaged Bakkie. I spoke to a person called Tulani Magubane who gave me another email address that did not reply. A day or two later I phoned and spoke to Tulani Magubane again and he gave me another email AA address that he said would work. On 24 April 2017, I got a return email from Anthony Seale who said that I would be contacted soon by somebody from the AA. Two days later Dumisane phoned me and arranged to view the damage that the AA had done to my vehicle.</p> <p>Today (10 May 2017), I received an email from Delaine Moodley (of the AA) saying that the Golf bakkie has a design flaw that the AA tow-truck driver did not know about. The AA tow-truck driver towed the bakkie using a hook that is not fixed strong enough to tow the bBakkie with. This resulted in my engine mounting to be pulled out of the bodywork, the radiator to be pulled out of the bodywork, the front bumper to be damaged, and some metal body work to be torn from the force of being pulled onto the tow-truck.</p> <p>Delaine Moodley says that the AA can only pay 50% towards the damage done to my vehicle. But how can that be right if the AA has a professional towing service with professional tow-truck drivers. Surely the driver has to know his job and surely the AA tow-truck driver is responsible for the damage to my vehicle. The damage to my vehicle is solely to blame on the AA tow-truck driver who damaged my vehicle. I have been paying for the AA service for many years and I expect that they should have professionals operating their towing vehicles. I did not tow the vehicle and damage it - that is what the AA did.</p>
