AA Membership. Be aware that the Advertised 60+ discount is not app**** when you turn 60
I have spent a long time today trying to obtain assistance with renewing our membership (our whole family have been paid up members for over 30 years). I cancelled the existing debit order because the AA were charging for the full rate instead of the 60+ rate once my husband had turned 60. I was told it is the members duty to timeously request the reduced rate. Although they have his date of birth they do not apply the rebate unless requested. No refund was offered when I pointed out the error. Too late apparently. Ironically the AA had no difficulty in detecting when our children reached 25yrs and then hiking up the rate for them.
I only receive automated responses to my emails. Today when I reached someone on the phone although she was helpful and polite there was no follow through. I ended up phoning again. And all of this to renew our subscriptions. Do the AA really want customers?
