AA legal taking forever to get access back

I was involved in a accident in November 2014, it was not my fault as the taxi drove into my lane and knocked me head on. All of the details was exchange and forwarded to my insurance. My insurance wrote my vehicle off and informed me I must pay the access and could claim the access back via my insurance legal team. I haven’t heard anything from my Insurance then, I contacted them in 2015 to require about the access, they told me the following:

1 – My File is with the lawyers

2 – The 3rd party had no insurance at the time of the accident and they have no contact details of the 3rd party although I gave them all the information when the claim was logged.

To date I’m still getting the same story when contacting the insurance legal department. I contacted them this afternoon, feeling very frustrated as to how this claim has been dealt with. They lady on the other hand offered me to take the case over by myself, why should I? I have been paying you a service now you want to back out? It doesn’t work like that. I asked for a contact number for the lawyers but the there’s no answer. It feels like I’m fighting a losing battle.

I would advise you never take out insurance from the AA, I won’t for sure.

Dear Percival

Thank you for submitting your complaint.

The AA enjoyed a six year relationship with Auto & General Insurance as the underwriter of Insurance driven by the AA policies. This relationship came to an end at the end of June 2015, and all AA policyholders were sent a communication advising them that their policy will be transitioned to the Auto & General Insurance brand from 1 July 2015.

The revised Insurance Driven by the AA product offering was launched in June 2016.

Should you require any further information, or have any questions regarding your cover or benefits from Auto & General, please contact them directly. In addition please feel free to raise your complaint directly with them.

Kind regards

The Insurance Driven by the AA Team

In the end my excess could not been paid due to the Insurance legal Team could not locate the owner of the other vehicle, although I have given them phone numbers, registration number of vehicle etc. I was told to go to the small claims court if I want to pursue the case further but there is nothing they could do any further. Worthless Insurance!!!!!!!
