Faulty car
I am very unhappy with the service I am receiving from Autopedigree Pinetown.
We recently traded in our 2013 Kia Rio for a Renault Sandero 2017 model with just over 14 000km.
After driving the vehicle for a few days my husband noticed that one of the tires was making noise - it was the front tire on the driver's side. We called the salesperson who had helped us with the deal (Lwazi) and he asked us to bring the car in for inspection. My husband brought the car in but it was raining and they couldn't test drive it.
My mother in-law then requested the vehicle for a trip to JHB and we agreed. On their way to JHB the tire that was making the sound burst, they lost both wheel caps in the front tires, the rim of the tire which burst is totally damaged and the other front rim is dented. The wheel alignment of the vehicle is off.
My husband went to the dealership in Pinetown and told them everything that happened, The manager that he spoke to stated that they are willing to buy us a new tyre and take the car in for a wheel alignment.
After calling the ombudsman and being told our rights I feel it's unjust the treatment we've received.
I am unhappy with this as the vehicle is too new for us to be expected to be buying anything.
I would like the car to be taken in for a full inspection and be given a certificate that all is well with the vehicle or be given a new vehicle.
I am expecting the dealership to take full responsible for the expenses of the vehicle, the tyre, wheel caps, rims and the wheel alignment.
It is not our problem that the car could not be inspected before the JHB trip. We notified the dealership of the sound the tire was making and we did bring the car in for inspection as requested but it was raining and they couldn't test drive it and the second time it was a public holiday and the workshop guys weren't there.
You are welcome to call me the Pinetown dealership knows me well.
