Delayed Vehicle Registration and Monopolistic Business Practice

I am extremely dissatisfied with the prolonged delay in registering my Suzuki Ertiga GA model 2024, purchased on 29 April 2024. Despite numerous attempts to resolve this issue, I have not received any response to my initial complaint dated 28 May 2024. This ongoing problem has significantly impacted my business and personal operations.

Additionally, due to Auto Pedigree's exclusive supply arrangement, I paid an inflated price of R299,500 for the vehicle, which could have been purchased at a lower price directly from a Suzuki dealership.

On 19 June 2024, I visited your Head Office in Kempton Park regarding my unregistered vehicle complaint. Only then was I informed that the NATIS documentation had been released. However, the Auto Pedigree branch in Strand will only proceed with registration once they receive the documents via courier. This oversight and subsequent delay are unacceptable and have caused me significant inconvenience.

The delay in vehicle registration has caused several issues: a). Inability to Install Tracker: My insurance company requires registration before installing a tracking device, compromising my vehicle's security and increasing insurance risks. b). Expired Temporary Registration: My second temporary registration has expired, leaving me unable to legally operate the vehicle. c). Loss of Business: The delay has prevented me from using the vehicle for business, leading to substantial revenue loss and operational setbacks over the past two months. This prolonged registration process is unacceptable and reflects poorly on your dealership's efficiency and customer service standards. I demand immediate action to resolve these issues and mitigate the inconvenience caused.

Requested Actions: 1. Timely Registration and Licensing: Ensure immediate registration of my vehicle. 2. Immediate Price Adjustment: Refund R15000.00 as compensation for the inflated price I paid due to monopolistic practices by Auto Pedigree Strand in cooperation with Suzuki Helderberg. 3. Compensation for Losses: Provide compensation for the business and revenue losses estimated at +/- R22000.00 due to the delayed registration. 4. Improved Distribution Practices: Modify supply and distribution practices to allow fair competition among dealerships, offering customers more choices and competitive pricing. 5. Inclusion of Missing Features: Provide the missing features (better radio installation, wheel mags, and a towing bar) on my vehicle at no additional cost as alternative to the above mentioned refund. 6. Transparency and Fair Treatment: Ensure all customers are treated fairly and transparently, without any prejudice or manipulation in the selling price based on race or color. If I do not receive a satisfactory response within five business days, I will escalate my complaint. Thank you for your immediate attention to this urgent matter.

Sincerely, Chris Mbiza
