Worst dealership and *********** service

I recently contacted the Audi Dealership in Northcliff with regards to buying a car. The sales consultant Carl showed me the different cars that were available. Since these were the pre-owned cars he showed me an A1 Sportline 2013 model that was available. He advised me that before they can sell the car they would have to send it in to the workshop to have a few of the scratches and dents sorted so that it can be in showroom condition before they sell the car. I was assured that as soon as the car returns he will contact me and we can go ahead with the deal. I was quite happy with that and asked him to please see what he would give me for a trade-in on my current car. I also further added that since the Motor-Plan will be over in 2018, I asked him to please see what Audi would charge to extend the motor plan for a further two years. At no time did he ask me to sigh an offer to purchase on this car. Subsequently I visited the dealership every day thereafter asking them what was the deal with my Trade-in and so that I could arrange my finances in the meantime. To the best of my knowledge I was waiting for the car to come back from the workshop so that we could close the deal. Every time I went to them all that I was told is that he was waiting for his manager to come back to him with regards to a trade-in for my car. One week later I then spoke directly to the Sales Manager,John, who then very abruptly told me that he does not want to trade-in my car since its a Peugeot GTI and it does not fit into the class and category of cars that he trades in. He also then very rudely said to me that the car I was interested in has just been sold as the gentleman went to the panelbeaters to see the car, and liked the car and bought it. At no time was I called or told that there was any other person interested in the car. They knew full well that I was ready to buy this car. I then spoke to the dealer principal of the dealership and all he said to me was that the car is NOW sold and that I must get over it and move on. I then contacted Audi SA and the reply I got from them was " we so sorry for the inconvenience but Audi Northcliff is privately owned and Audi SA can do nothing about the matter" After me posting this on Facebook I was shocked by the amount of responses I received from people telling me how they had the same awful service from Audi Northcliff and advising me to stay far away from this branch. What is so frustrating is that this is an Audi Dealership carrying a name of a brand that is supposed to compete with Mercedes and BMW. I guess its dealerships like this that pull the brand into the mud and make me firmly believe that AUDI will NEVER be in the same class as MERCEDES and BMW. So disappointing. STAY AWAY FROM AUDI NORTHCLIFF AT ALL COSTS.
