This is how Audi SA treats their RS customers.
Audi South Africa just doesn't care about their customers and it shows.
Over the past 25 years, my family and I have dealt loyally and frequently with Audi South Africa purchasing over 100 vehicles from them and always supporting them. In the last 5 years, my family have all switched over to BMWs and I'm about to as well.
In April 2021 I bought a Brand New RS4 from Audi Centre Durban after the had my previous vehicle stuck in their workshop for over 3 months owing to the fact that they couldn't figure out what was wrong with the vehicle. Instead of continuing the song and dance of them trying to figure out what was the vehicle, I decided to trade it in instead and purchase a beautiful, Brand New Audi RS4.
All I have are regrets. The car has now spent 2 months back in Audis workshop due to violent brake shuddering. VIOLENT. BRAKE. SHUDDERING.
I sent the car to them in October 2022 for a brake pad change and a vibration when braking. They changed the brake pads and said it's all sorted out. I collect the vehicle and go out for drive and the VIOLENT BRAKE SHUDDERING hasn't gone away. I call them to let them know about this, explain to them that I've checked the wheels and tyres and everything is in order and that it has to be the brakes so I book the car in for the end of December for them to sort it out.
When dropping off the vehicle I give them EXTREMELY specific instructions to TEST THE VEHICLE PROPERLY and I even explain the circumstances in which the VIOLENT BRAKE SHUDDERING is at its worst and how to drive it to test it.
I leave the car with them for a whole month and when I go in to pick it up, I see that not only have they not sorted out the car, but they haven't even tested it. They did only 7km on the car and somehow decided that the problem on the vehicle was the wheels. Completely disregarding everything that I've explained to them.
Against my better judgement, I take the vehicle away to check the tyres get the wheels rebalanced and as I already knew and told the Audi "experts", there was absolutely no problem with it. Armed with this information I take the vehicle back to Audi to once again plead with them to fix my vehicle and this time I take one of their technicians for a test drive and PROVE that it is undoubtedly the brakes that are an issue. The technician agrees with me, that the brakes are an issue, and that it needs to be changed.
I book the vehicle in for the end of March for them to finally sort out this issue once and for all. I go back to the dealership 2 weeks later and the absolute blithering idiots now have made up a story that the tyres are the fault, yet they STILL HAVEN'T TESTED THE BRAKES.
So I take yet another technician for a test drive to prove to another idiot that the problem is definitely the brakes, they agree with me again and now EVENTUALLY AGREE to test the brakes. It's now been 6 months since I initially complained about the brakes and only now - 6 months later - have they agreed to test the brakes.
Well obviously since it's been 6 months, the problem with the brakes has gotten worse as the car has been getting used. So the "experts" at Audi have this RIDICULOUS tolerance of 0.02mm on their brake disk's and since this car has been driven for 6 months since I told them the brake disk's need to be changed, the tolerance is now at 0.6mm.
Now it's end of April and since Audi has been delaying me this long, they've been able to come up with the story that the brake disks are too far out of tolerance and that they won't be changing my brake disks. I've tried appealing to the higher ups, explaining to them that it's been 6 months since this issue started and that is a performance vehicle. It's not an A model or even an S model. This is a 1.5million Rand High Performance Audi RS4, and it should be treated by Audi as such.
Honestly I've always been an Audi fan and enthusiast. I've always loved the Quattro concept and the beautiful designs and just everything about them. After this terrible, awful, lousy, pathetic experience, why would anyone want to continue owning an Audi?
