Spending money and still no solutions.

Good afternoon

I've had an issue with my Audi A4 2.0TFSI 2007 model for the past 2 months. What happened was the following :

The EPC light ( Electronic Power Control ) appears on my dash, and the consequences are that my car get's sluggish, it's loses about three quarters of it's power. I went to Audi Centre in Paarl, and they told me it could be one of a few things, so they have to run a diagnostics test to identify the problem, which I completely understand. Just to do the test, they charged me R1100. After about 4 hours they phoned me to come and collect my car. I drove down to the dealership, and they told me that there's no problem with my car, so they just had to clear the temporarily faulty lights that came on.

Two days after that, the light went back on, I was confused and a bit furious. I went back to the dealership and asked them what's going on, so they told me they're not sure, the'll have to run the diagnostics tests again, which I obviously didn't pay for again. They also asked me if they could keep my car there for a few days, which I agreed to.

After two days they phoned me to tell me they have good news and that they have identified the problem. I went in, they told me I had an faulty "oil separator", which is the cause of my problem. They quoted me R2700 to fix the problem. I told them to go ahead and order the part so that my car can be fixed. Eventually after 3 days without a car they phoned me to come and collect my car, which is supposed to be fixed now, isn't it? When I picked up my car after they were done, I very clearly and prominently asked them if the oil separator were the ONLY problem causing the EPC light going on, and they said "yes, that's correct". I also asked them, that replacing the oil separator will assure that the light won't come back on again, and they said "yes". Lastly I asked/told them, that if the EPC light were to come on again, i'm going to bring the car back to them, and they can fix the problem on their costs, which they agreed to.

I got my car on the Friday, drove it the whole weekend, and guess what, two days later, the Sunday afternoon the light went back on once again!! I was really furious, cause I have now all ready spend +-R3800, and my car are still having the same problem. The Monday I went back to them again, and told them that they must take the car, and do whatever they want, as long as they get it fixed.

They once again did the test on the car, for the third problem. Now they have diagnosed a new problem, which is the "High pressure fuel pump", which the quoted me R9700 for. Now all of a sudden, the manager told me that the guy who helped me, couldn't have told me that they will cover the costs if the problem were to occur again. I googled "Audi South Africa", and after a few calls, I reached a "regional manager" in Johannesburg named Nigel Morgan Smith. After a long discussion with him, he got the quote from R9700 to R5000, but this isn't my problem. The problem is they told me that if the light were to came back on, that they would take responsibility, and now they don't?!

I really feel that for Audi agents, this is unacceptable! I'm not working with a backyard mechanic, this is the Audi agents, they are supposed to be able to fix this.

Very unhappy client.
