Sales Manager offers a great deal in writing and then says "she made a mistake".

Audi Centre’s Fourways Complaint Sales Manager offers a great deal in writing and then says "she made a mistake". I accompanied my wife to the dealership on 25/08 and was given a fantastic deal on a new A4, maxed with extra's. 1. 28/08/18 We noted a discrepancy between the finance amount and OTP amount +/- R342000 Vs R +/- 442000. 100K to be precise which we queried. - We were also looking at options at Audi Centurion and cancelled the deal due to the “excellent discount" and the promise of a better car. (Sport S-TRONIC Vs S-TRONIC) from Audi Fourways. - We were told there was no need to sign and email the OTP as this could be done on Thursday 30/08 when we drop the old car off.

2. 30/08/18 - We arrived at the dealership and were told that the finance amounts were incorrect and that it was in fact R +/- 442000. We were unhappy about this and stated that we had email evidence from the Finance Manager (Michelle) that the additional 100K was a discount offered on "aged" stock. - We were also told by the Sales Manager that if the 2013 A4 was not traded in today then we would lose R30000. - My wife indicated that she was not happy with error and that the car should be sold at the price offered. She was also concerned that she would also loose R30000 as it was too late to go back to the Centurion offer. - We agreed to do a deal on another A4 and stated we would only want delivery on either 4/5 September.

3. 31/08/18 - Incorrect VIN and Engine numbers were communicated and after several emails to the Sales Person, the correct one was sent. I needed this to arrange insurance. - My wife was asked by Michelle to sign and return the delivery receipt. I instructed my wife not to do so as this only needs to happen after she has inspected the car. - We were informed that the vehicle would be ready for collection on 01/09 and we immediately said that delivery would only take place on 05/09/18.

4. 01/09/18 - I visited the dealership to check on the car as we did not want any further issues. I noticed a scratch on the left hand side of the boot and the salesman (Fazal) said he would polish it out. - Fazal stated that the car will be ready for collection on 05/09/18 and apologised for the problems experienced.

5. 03/09/18 - My wife was surveyed telephonically and gave a rating of 2 because of her level of dissatisfaction. - I was called later that afternoon by Fazal who heard about the ratings and apologised. I said to him that it would be more meaningful for Beleisha the sales Manager to call my wife and apologise as she played a major part in this debacle. - I was called in the early evening by Beleisha who apologised and again I said she should be speaking to my wife. What annoyed me is that I was asked “after all of the problems experienced why did we still go ahead with the deal”. 6. 05/09/18 - We had a discussion with the Dealer Principal (Martin) and explained the events leading up to this point. Martin confirmed that it was confusing to him as well and that he would investigate in the background and inform us accordingly. He also mentioned that he had done a number of deals with e so called “aged stock”. - Final documentation was signed. Again my wife was asked to review ratings. She agreed to change the rating for Question 3 & 4 to 5 and for Questions 1 & 2 she left it with a question mark. She said that she will review her ratings based on the “promise” of improved after sales service. - We received an email from Martin apologising and stating that he would put measure in place. - At this stage there was temporary number plates on the car and Fazal promised to have even come to her place of work to fit them.

7. 11/09/18 - My wife emailed the Martin again stating that she was not happy with his response of 05/09 and that the number plates had not been forgotten.

8. 12/09/18 - Number plates and license disc fitted.

9. 18/09/18 - No response received from Martin - Posted a Google review on the Audi Fourways web page. - Advise my wife to escalate complaint to Audi SA.

My wife has been extremely tolerant of this situation and were it up to me I would have certainly handled it differently. The situation has certainly been an eye opener for me and I will in future be guarded regarding my recommendations to the Fourways dealership
