Cam belt failure @ 113900 km - 2014 Audi Allroad 2.0tdi

So, it seems Audi SA is quite happy with the fact that their products fail just like that. The service book recommends a cam belt replacement at 210.000 km!!! Mine has done just a bit more than half of that distance and failed. Their customer interaction centre is quite friendly, but it took them 8 days to turn me down... They are covering other damages caused by this failure, but maintain that a cam belt is a wear and tear item, thus it's for my account. I would have accepted this argument, if my car was anywhere near the recommended replacement mileage, but not at just over 50% of it's projected life. Anyway, let's see what Audi Germany thinks of this.
