First Clutch Not covered by Audi
Purchase an Audi at your own risk.
Audi’s free way plan only applies when it suits Audi. Not when there is a Fault or problem on your car.
My Audi has 56000kms. My clutch pedal slipped once and it worked 100% afterwords. I chose to take it in as a precaution to make sure nothing went wrong. 5 days after i took it in they told me there was a rattle in first gear. Almost like a rattle where you would stall the car. They assessed the car and said that the clutch had been burnt out and that it was not covered as it was a result of drivers error.
I explained to them that it’s impossible for it to be drivers error as I’ve had several cars prior which I have never had a problem with.
After assessing the clutch and chatting to a few engineers that used to work for Audi. We concluded that the reason why the Flywheel and pressure plate looked burnt was because the clutch was over worn out and they were scratching on the pivots of the clutch. Audi still does not want to acknowledge it, they are stubborn and at the end of the day because they are a business they just want to make money. My car has been sitting at Audi Bruma for over 2 weeks now and I’m still waiting for a response about the final outcome. They don’t bother getting back to you. I have to constantly call Audi SA for a response on the matter.
Audi Bruma’s report was completely incorrect they mentioned incorrect parts that were damaged and for some reason they are standing by that report. They never bothered to mention that the clutch was worn out.
I quote Audi SA’s website “ There can be no better motoring peace of mind than knowing that your car will be serviced, maintained and repaired, should this prove necessary, at no cost to you. Thanks to Audi Freeway Plan, that peace of mind could be yours. The Audi Freeway Plan absorbs all maintenance and service costs, with the exception of between-service top-up fluids, fuel, cracked or broken glass, and tyres.”
