Faulty Q5

In April 2018 we purchased a bigger vehicle to cater for our growing family. The vehicle we purchased was a brand new Audi Q5, at the Durban Umhlanga branch. On the 30th November 2018 at 22:08h, I started having problems with my vehicle as it refused to start, While my 14 month old daughter was in the car at night, you can imagine the panic I experienced at this point, this was just one of the many times after the set date I had to go through this from my new car, there after my car was booked in and out of the service department at Audi, at one point My car sat with Audi for 3 months, all departments tried to assist. My car was at the Audi dealership for 3months noting I had to pay my installments for the same 3 months, for the first month they did not give me a loan car as they said “they don’t have” and for the 2 months there after they gave me a smaller cheaper car then my Q5 and after insisting I needed a car to my equivalent they supp**** me with the franchise owners Q5, while he drove my car “to see if he could experience my car not starting” during this time Audi had the nerve to send a Q5 with full branding advertising Audi’s demo car special. Being desperate I drove the car for a day, and constantly had to answer questions from people asking what was the demo special “I was advertising” I then sent the car back and had to settle for the smaller loan car as I could not take the irritation of the attention driving this car brought. So I settled for this cheaper smaller car that could not cater to my need of buying a SUV in the first place. After months of emails and broken promises and bad service, They told me “nothing was wrong with my car” despite having video footage showing the vehicle refusing to start. It had been put to me that this was an intermittent problem, and because they could not send the car back to Audi South Africa with a reasonable reason why my car would not start on occasion Audi South Africa would not accept it back leaving the dealership open to having to carry the cost of “replacing” my car and that they were not prepared to do. I was told that I was not applying the right amount of pressure on brake when starting my car, keeping in mind I had been starting this same vehicle for months before these issues started also this is not my first push start car, myself and my husband both experienced the same thing of the car not starting on many separate occasions, thus resulting in Audi not being able to do anything for me. Also noting that before this incident occurred I had logged a complaint of faulty windows on this same Q5. My windows would wind up and down on their own, when I wanted to close them they would close and then immediately after, open on there own, in a more recent experience they refused to close at all leaving me to leave my car windows completely open with no way of closing them over night, A technical team from Audi South Africa flew down to see if they could assist, also to no avail. I have spoken to many high ranking persons namely Mr Goliath, who flew down to personally see me. He assured me that we would come to a reasonable solution. As I asked him for one of two options, because they could not tell me the exact problem or assure me that once I take my car that I will never experience this issue again with the vehicle. I fear for not only mine but my 14 month old daughters life that was previously put in danger as a result of this car not being able to start before, as they could not explain to me what was wrong with my vehicle or Fix the problem. I asked Mr Goliath for either a replacement of my vehicle or to refund my deposit and to take this problematic Q5 back so I could be put in a financial position as if I had not bought the vehicle and could purchase a new safe vehicle. Mr Goliath assured me a plan would be put together with my best interest at heart and told me my husband and another family member that my asking was within reason, but after months of stringing me along and having to paying my instalments for a vehicle that was sitting in Audi Umhlanga’s workshop. I had no option but to take my unsafe vehicle back. This post does not shed light on the rude individuals within the Audi dealership/ organization one even told my husband “his tired of our bull****”, the lack of empathy and understanding of what I am going through. I have all documentation to back up the claims, and a long string of emails

This is my experience and I feel that as Audi consumer I will continue to post my experience so that people will know Just how terrible your product is and also how you treat us as consumers. Audi South Africa
