Extremely bad service

I dropped my Audi A3 yesterday 20/07/17 in the morning at Audi Centre Johannesburg for a service of 105 000km. It is just an oil service no other issues. During the day the service advisor did not advise of any issues with the car. When I drove the vehicle in the morning to the workshop it showed no warning lights/signals on the dash to indicate that there was anything wrong besides the warning that 'oil change due when switching the car on/of.

To my surprise the service advisor asked when I was picking up my vehicle if there was any warning lamps when I brpught the vehicle in the morning to which I said there was none. He informed me the engine warning light is on and this is because the water pump is faulty and needs replacing. I disagreed because an oil change does not have to impact nor does the technician have to go near the water pump to do an oil change service.

He then told the car was plugged into their computer and that is how the fault was identified and the warning signal will remain there until the water pump is replaced and quotation is R9k.

When driving home in traffic between Johannesburg and Centurion the car' temperature was rising and reaching almost peek levels of 180 degrees. When traffic clears and am driving at 100km/hr the temperature drops as low as if the car has not been driven for more than 10 km's. At this stage the car should be showing temperature gauge in the middle or +/- 90 degrees UT it was not the case.

I took the car in for a 100 000km check up and there were no faults identified on the vehicle, now 5000km later to have such an issue does no take sense.

I am very angry that I took my vehicle to a workshop that is supposed to be reputable but to collect it with this big an issue does not make sense. I will be approaching the motor industry ombudsman and consumer ombudsman regarding my query.
