Dreadful Used Car sales experience from Audi Centre Rivonia and Audi SA

My friend bought a used Q3 from Audi Centre Rivonia. The Q3 was 11 months old with 18439 km on the odometer. We collected the car on Friday afternoon and left for a vacation on the next Tuesday (3 days later), the care had been serviced by an Audi Service Centre at 15000km and before resale had the 80 point resale check. While travelling on Tuesday morning t our holiday destination we had a rear left tyre blow out on the N1 near the Atterbury off ramp at 8 am. We quickly changed the tyre and headed to the nearest tyre fitment place. The tyre fitment place told us that all 4 tyres need to be replaces as they were all badly worn and 2 had superficial cuts that were problematic. We replaced 2 tyres and kept 2 of the old tyres in use as they only had 2 replacement tyres in stock. We immediately called Audi Centre Rivonia to compain about the state of the tyres on the car. To our horror they were unsympathetic and said their was nothing wrong with the tyres and that what you get with a second hand car. I find it appalling that a client can buy a R600 000.00 car and have a reputable brand like Audi feel that it is ok to sell a product that is in poor condition. The tyres that were originally on the car all had between 2.5mm and 3mm thread on them and that is well within safety limits so they wash their hands of the problem. As a token they were prepared to replace a tyre but only because we complained quite vehemently. After many years of being a loyal Audi fan thi is his 5th Audi he was seriously upsate by the lack of service and support the got from the branch and from Audi South Africa who passed the problem back to the branch. It did not help that the only reason Friend bought a 'new' Q3 was that his only Q3 had a waring light show and no Service Centre accommodate a service or tell him if the waring light was a major concern or if the car was still drivable. Over all AUDI is now a dirty word in our house and that old adage of Used car salespeople are **** has been confirmed for us or at least in terms of the used care salesperson at Audi Centre Rivonia. The frustration of no one cares about a cutomer complaint and that it's the customers responsibility to ensure that tyres are good on a used car, even if they car cost R600 000, a used car salesperson / Audi could not care about the safely of their customers. Shame on you Audi!!!!
