Don't Buy an Audi Vehicle in South Africa

You may pay a fortune for your Audi but don't expect any of that to be of use to you when you need servicing or maintenance. If your Audi needs repairs (we are in a Maintenance Period still), drop off the car, make your way around by yourself relying on the help of others because unlike other big marques, Audi doesn't think people who buy Audis should have loaners when the car is indisposed for an extended period.

Take this story for instance: Mon 29 Jan 2018, vehicle is faulty, Audi Assist arrives next day to tow, and instead of bringing it CLOSER to our home per their clause 3.5, they refuse and tow it further from our home, abut 50 minutes away! It spends Tues + Wed + Thursday 1 Feb 2018 in the Jhb Braamfontein branch, they do literally nothing except clear the error (gearbox issue) and we get the vehicle late 1 Feb 2018.

Today, 7 Feb 2018, the same problem arises, gearbox faulty, we go through the whole tow story except the car is in Midrand and so gets towed to Rivonia. Issue is indeed a mechanical component faulty with the gearbox, won't get it for at least two days etc.

Unlike the previous week, where each day required 2 x Ubers, 2 x Gautrains, and 2 x trips for the vehicle owner, this time we ask for a loaner. They have none.

We phone Audi Assist HQ, and the dealership, and nothing. What happens if one has no other means to get around to work and back etc? The Rivonia "Dealer of the Year" branch has just FOUR (4), yes, FOUR, loaner cars for hundreds of clients. PATHETIC!

This latest Audi is our 3rd Audi we have purchased in 5 years. It will be our last. Not worth the money, no aftersales service, no real attention to care and detail, STAY AWAY FROM AUDI SOUTH AFRICA!
