Dissapointing Service from Audi Northcliff
I am writing on behalf of my in laws who is older and have endless problems with their Audi A1 at Audi in Northcliff.
Firstly I would like to say that I have been a massive Audi fan my whole life and have owned a few myself, my dealings with Audi has always been very professional, and not in line with this experience I am about to describe to you below. I have always been treated well, as I was expecting from a premium brand like Audi, and not at all in line with this matter below.
On 20 November 2017 the car was booked in for its last service under warranty / maintenance plan (km`s around 91962). The car is a 2012 Audi A1 1.4TFSI Manual. It went in for a service (the last service under maintenance plan) and the clutch was replaced during this service. When the car was returned it made a horrible noise that it did not make before. My In-Laws are older and do not understand the ins and outs of what the dealership was explaining to them, but accepted the reasoning from Audi at the time as to why they need to keep the car.
The car was kept by Audi, leaving my in-laws stranded for 10 days in December without a car. After 10 days a courtesy car was given to them, and to this day the car is still at the dealership with numerous ridiculous excuses given.
We are now on the 21st of February (3 months after the initial book-n date) and the car has still not been fixed. My In laws are being sent from Pillar to post and every time there seems to be new excuses ranging from the following: 1) The gearbox being removed, 2) The engine being opened 3)Turbo noises 4) Audi waiting for a technician from Germany to assess the issue etc.
(to name but a few).
They have also not been requesting to chat to the dealer principal, Mr Marc Simon, but for some reason his staff always indicates that he is not available. An excuse that seems to be made, which seems like the staff is hiding something from him. (I do not understand how a Dealer Principal cannot be available over a course of 3 months).
Yesterday morning they were informed that the car was ready, however that the air-conditioner still needs to be re-gassed (seems like ******* to me because why was this not picked up at the service where after the car was returned.), the car was then taken for a long test drive according to your dealership just for my in-laws to once again be informed that the car is still making the same noise. This all seems like a very funny story to me and a plan to eventually get my in-laws to buy a new car. The bottom line is, the noise was not there before it went in to the dealership and came to the front when the car was returned. They have been sitting with a courtesy car now for 3 months.
I am sorry but it does seem like Audi Northcliff is taking advantage of older people which has been loyal to you guys all these years.
I would like this matter to be cleared up as soon as possible, you are welcome to contact me for any further clarity
I am looking forward to your feedback
Kind Regards
Vickey de Villiers
