De*****ed by Audi Centre Johannesburg (Braamfontein)
To whom it may concern,
I hereby wish to report the extremely unsatisfactory service I have been made to experience at Audi South African Head Office (Case Management Department), Audi Centre Sandton in Johannesburg, and also in Audi Centre Johannesburg (Braamfontein) where I initially bought the vehicle.
Here is a summary of what I went through during the past 36 months: • I bought my Audi A3 Cabriolet TFSI on the 17th April 2015; and the car started to malfunction after approximately one year of purchase i.e. June 2016. The Audi Johannesburg (Braamfontein) Service Centre charged me R10, 950.67 for clutch plate replacement. I contested that this needed to be covered under the motor plan. • It then emerged that there was a clutch plate replacement done on the 13th April 2015 which was prior to me collecting the car sold to me as a brand new car. I only found out in 2016. • On the 5th September 2017 car broke down again due to flat battery. • On the 16th May 2018 my car broke down again in the middle of the busy N1 Freeway in Johannesburg South Africa. • The Audi Sandton Service Centre diagnosis was that the clutch needed to be replaced and this would cost me R24, 423.70 (please see the attached invoice). • This clutch plate issue is constant and has a pattern. The dealer’s assertion that it was due to my driving is false because I drove a VW Polo 6 for 4 years without any clutch problem. • On the 22nd May 2018 I sent a formal complain to Audi South Africa Head Office. On the 30th May 2018 the case manager Ms. Charmaine Mann received the job card from Audi Centre Johannesburg but was not willing to share it with me. On the 31st May 2018, Ms. Charmaine Mann eventually shared an unclear and unreadable job card and instructed me to contact Audi Centre Johannesburg direct for any further issues. • After 20 days from the incident date; on the 5th June 2018, Ms. Charmaine Mann sent a letter stating that in April 2015, the dealer carried out a campaign on my car, which was unrelated to the clutch components. This explanation disputes their service record which stated that they conducted clutch replacement job. • Due to frustration of not having a car, I gave Audi Sandton a go ahead to fix the car; i.e. clutch plate replacement which I would pay for. • On the day of vehicle collection on the 13th June 2018; I was informed by the Audi Sandton Service Manager (Mr Wayne van der Westhuizen) that the car would not start. They suspected flat battery. He then request I collect the vehicle on the 14th June 2018. • On the 14th June 2018 the car still wouldn’t start and problem still exists.
In conclusion, the car is now at the dealer in Audi Centre Sandton. I have no idea how long it is going to stay there or if they will ever fix it. A car is a huge financial investment and as a customer I must get value for money. Audi Centre Johannesburg de*****ed me by selling me a car with a problem that would cause me so much difficulties in a short space of three years. Audi South Africa Head office decided to close the investigation without letting me know of the closure of this matter; after letting me know I should contact both dealers myself i.e. Audi Centre Johannesburg for 2015 repairs and Audi Sandton for current repairs.
I really need your intervention on this matter.
