Audi Oil Leak Issue

With my wife and I both driving Audi's we were bitterly disappointing with their response to our problem which we now believe to extend way past just ourselves. Around 2 month's after my wife's car's final service we found that the vehicle had dark marks behind the exhaust been going through oil excessively (topped up once a week). After analyzing the issue with Audi it was identified that oil was leaking past the piston rings and they quoted us a staggering R60k to repair. We appealed to Audi and queried why something this big was not identified in the last service. We wanted to still fix the car but appealed to Audi for goodwill to help reduce the costs.<br> They sadly said they were;t willing to help us.I then found out that a work colleague had the exact same issue and recommended the mechanic he used to get his vehicle repaired. They informed me that they had many Audi's coming though with the same issue. To affirm this we found an article in the April issue of Car magazine that informed us that it is a well known issue world wide that lead t a class action-law suite in the US. When queried with Audi South Africa they simply give a poor response that downplays the issue here.
