Audi, not fulfilling advertised parameters and selling unroadworthy cars to people?
I purchased a BMW M135i From Audi Princess Springs in December 2017.
Since the date of purchase the following problems are at play:
- The car was sold to me not road worthy.
It had tires to narrow for the rims on the rear (Wrong tires. Needed a 255 in width, had a very narrow 235 on where you could see the metal protrude) which I had to personally pay for and correct. In relation to this topic when I contacted the dealership, I was told by Francois that the previous owner brought it in "that way" and that he could do nothing about it. Later as I laid a complaint at Audi, I was called later in the week. In the follow up conversation I was apologized too, and Francois said he would obtain an invoice for the tires which they ordered from Auto Alpina Springs. So in the hard facts of the situation Audi Springs ordered the incorrect tires. However Francois is still blaming an external dealership for not having the car road worthy? Is this Audi's job (the seller) or is it BMW's job? (A company not involved in the sale?). And as a result I incurred an extra cost to make the car road worthy. How is it, that a normal non motor industry person knows that this car needs wide tires on the reaar, and a 'well-trained' Audi employee does not? Unacceptable.
- The car was advertised with the balance of the MotorPlan till 100 000km.
This is my favorite part. The dealership advertised the car having motorplan. The motorplan transfer was not done by Audi. Francois told me it isn't under his authority. Seeing as this isn't my first vehicle purchase, I find it laughable for Audi to tell me its my job to get it done. Also to pay R1800 to commence a quality check, to determine IF BMW can give me a motorplan. To this day the motorplan is not in my name, upon Francois producing the quality check invoice (which was done when Audi purchased the car, which was meant to be redone upon selling it, so that the NEW customer could have the motorplan), BMW has informed me of the same. That Audi has to transfer the motorplan to me before they can even BOOK the car in. Having bought several vehicles, I must say this is the first time where I have purchased one, where I did not received the motorplan advertised and then been told it is my job to get it done? Mis representation of the goods purchased. Unacceptable.
-Wheel bearing On 3 January I called the salesman I purchased the car from, and informed him the right wheel is making an extremely bad noise. I was told, "Your service plan is with BMW now, take it there.". Which is kind of funny, because my service plan had not transferred. And now I cannot get the car fixed? Because of the dealerships reluctance to make that happen. False information, unacceptable.
So my issues are these:
- Why did I not receive a road worthy car? I have all the relevant paper work to prove it. And why did I receive a scape goat lie? And then a scape goat answer? I dont think it's Auto Alpina's fault, it clearly isn't. They act under instruction when ordering parts. The instruction given by Audi.
- Why did I not receive the advertised motorplan? Get told I have it, then turn outs I don't have it? Then Get told I must sort it out, and upon doing so, it is clearly evident that Audi should have done it. And I cannot actually do it now, as Audi commenced the (Invoices Francois Forwarded) check and needs to transfer it. I again have email proof from BMW.
- Blame shifting. Audi did not do what was promised, in terms of their jobs, or the advertised products. Also the first time I called about the tires, Francois told me I did "get the answer" I wanted. Which is funny as he was under the guise of the previous customer brought the car in with those tires. Which I still don't think is an excuse, surely a corporate of Audi's size and 'caliber' must make sure the cars are road worthy prior to re-selling? However it turns out, AUDI ORDERED THE INCORRECT TIRES.
So its BMW's fault for ordering the wrong tires (Laughable.)? It's my fault that I don't have a motorplan? I was told to take my wheel bearing issue to BMW as I have my motorplan there? Oh no wait. I don't have a motorplan and cannot get it transferred as you were meant to do it PRIOR to sale? Or was it my job to make your advertised product fulfill its criteria?
Just so you know, I have all the relevant data and information highlighting these topics. I can and will provide it any point. However I have already logged all this in at head office. I feel its important for our society to note how slow you've moved, and that you've actually done NOTHING as the mother company to solve it.
I highly suggest that you consider your business practice and ethics at this point. I will never deal with Audi again, and make it my mission to make sure people know of what happened here. The blatant disregard for fulfilling your sale is plainly, ********.
