Audi *** Service

Good day

In March 2018 I traded in my Bronze 2013 Audi A5 2.0 TDi (Vin: WAUZZZ8T4EA007418) for a Tango Red 2016 Audi A4 1.4T FSI S Tronic (Vin: WAUZZZF45GA075001) which was at around 45000km at Audi Centre Arcadia. The car was sold to me by Pre-owned Sales Exec, Tyrone Young. Before purchasing the vehicle my husband and I enquired about the vehicle's history.

3/4 months down the line the car had a knocking sound and had what sounded like a busted speaker. I send the car back to the dealership got them to have a look at it. I then enquired again if the car was ever in an accident... I was then assured that the was never in an accident. I took the car back and a week later the knocking sound was back. I then took it back to the dealership for it to be checked. In October 2018 whilst in Durban, the car complaint that I should switch off the engine and check the coolant which I did (this according to me was odd because coolant usually gets sorted at service). I stopped at the nearest garage and the coolant was replaced not water.

The knocking sound was now fixed after we had to contact Audi SA and I still enquired if the car was ever in an accident, I was again assured that it was never in an accident. Two weeks ago I noticed that my boot was not opening and then went into Audi Centre Menlyn thinking it could be a setting in the car, I was assisted by Service Advisor Wisani who then adviced that I should book the car in as it seems there is something wrong with a switch at the boot.

I booked the car in on Friday 26 April 2019 at Audi Centre Menlyn, assisted by Service Advisor Charmaine. She then called me around 12:30 to pick the car up as there was a part they needed to order for the boot to be fixed and that I should bring it back on Monday 29 April 2019. As I was driving back to my office a warning light came up for me to check the coolant and switch off the engine. I stopped at the nearest garage and refilled but then realised that something could be wrong with the car. I went in on the Saturday to Audi Centre Menlyn to have the assessed as I am seeking a new car because of the frustrations experienced since driving it and was alerted that the car seems like it was in an accident. The car was dropped off on Monday morning and I alerted Charmaine that it complained about the coolant level (this was for the second time this year actually). Upon the car being picked up all was fine. I drove the car on Tuesday to Parkview Shopping Centre where I was the whole day until I went back home in Thatchfield and all was fine.

On Wednesday morning, I noticed a pool of water underneath the car and thought it was from the aircon, when my husband checked the coolant level he noticed that it was almost empty. I left the car as is. On Thursday 2 May 2019 as I was about to drive out, the warning light appeared again that I should switch off the engine and check the coolant level... this was very odd. I then contacted Audi Assist to tow the car to the nearest dealership.

The car was towed to Audi Centre Centurion. Today, Friday 3 May 2019, my husband received a call from a Paul from Audi Centurion who informed him that the radiator seems to have been hit by a stone that's why there is a leak and that the motor plan does not cover this. I then contacted Audi Centre Centurion and spoke to Paul, who was rude and did not offer any kind of solution as I explained that I currently do not have a car and would kindly like for them to assist. Needless to say I was told a quotation would be sent to us to pay from our pocket as the motor plan will not cover this because it is seen as negligence. Now I do not understand why this would be seen as negligence as I have not been in an accident since I got the car, the only damage is a minor scratch on the driver side where I was driving out the garage and trying to avoid bumping my dog.

I am very disappointed with this brand because clients needs are not taken care off. This car had been giving me issues from the onset and nothing was done. Now we are possibly sitting with a debt that we are not even prepared for.

I just want this gone!!!! Audi can keep it.
