Audi Centre Somerset West - hopefully Not what Audi is about!

I have been an Audi customer for several years, since buying my car brand new from them, and thereafter servicing it every year, up to the last service just a few months ago. About a week ago I took my car to the Audi Centre in Somerset West because of a sound I could hear while driving, which took a while for the technician to identify during a test drive. After their investigation I accepted their shocking quotation of more than R52K apparently to replace the camshafts. I was told it would take several days but it would be done by this Friday (15/03/19). No courtesy car was offered, and when I asked I was told they didn’t have one. I asked for a quotation to sell the car to them, and buy another Audi, but none was given.

But that is ok I suppose. What is not, is to accept a quote, and when you think the work is almost done to be told they won’t be able to finish the job as there is a valve that they cannot remove from the old part and must be ordered, at an additional cost of R6000 on top of the original R52,000. Surely they should have done this kind of job before and should be able to quote accurately, and deliver as promised. Being reliable and keeping your clients happy should be a given by any company, more so a well known international brand, from which customers would only expect excellence! If this Audi Centre in Somerset West is what Audi is about, then Audi is neither excellent nor reliable anymore.
