Audi Centre George Horrible service
After (20/06/18)a engine warning light come on in my vehicle in Knysna I arranged with Audi to have the vehicle towed to the closest dealership in George. The experience was horrible.
1st the tow truck did not come at 7am as much as I received an sms confirmation of that. The up an down and non professional service was amazing.
2nd at the dealership Susan the service advice could stop telling me how busy she was as much as i was the only client at the dealership at the time. She just didn't habe time for me...the standby technician Iwas told telephonicly was waiting to assist us ... was not going to do that according to Susan as he apparently only did diagnosis on VW cars ... it seemed nobody was told we were comming and needed assistance as we are from PE. Susan said we will just have to wait "maybe she will attend to us today or tomorrow she cant confirm. I felt that that was so careless!
Eventually I spoke to Chris (workshop manager) who seemed to understand. He 'drove' my car in for diagnosis.
Eventually Susan ther service advisor tells us the timing chain seems to be stretched and is cuasing the fault that is reflecing. She says I must drive to PE to have it sorted immediately. Shocked Iasked her if the car will be ok to drive n she said yes.....after asking her the 3rd time she says "if it was her car I wouldn't". What kind of advise is that... as even I know the seriousness of a timing chain fault. And apparently she is kind enough not to charge us for the diagnosis...how nice...but strange...
We decided to leave ther car for repairs.... I was totally worried though as we felt she is just trying to get rid of us n were not confident about the workmanship ( and rightfully so)
22/06/18 she calls to tell me to ask for permission to strip and the price was R2700
A few days later 25/06/18lets me know they found the chain etc needs repacing and will cost an about R18 500. She needs permission to go ahead. I tell her it is what it is ... she can go ahead and do the repairs.
On the 28th she calls to tell me she has bad news it seems they now also have to replace the 2 cam shafts and this will now cost me about R47 000 and they need a R20 000 deposit immediately before they work.
My questions if they know what they are doing why was this never picked up initially and quoted accordingly....
I feel like im being ****** and I guarantee you that this vehicle will not be repaired properly even after i have paid this absurd amount.
Its one thing having car problems but this whole experience has been so traumatic. The strange thing is that the service and communication in the PE branch has always been so good and always accurate.
I am soo disappointed with Audi as a whole.
