Audi A3 (2010) Excessive Oil Consumption - Disappointing Customer Service from Audi

I have an Audi A3 2010 model. I'm literally filling 1-2 pints/ 500ml -1000ml oil every two weeks and I only drive my car 40km a day. So on average, that is 500ml - 1000ml every 560 KM. This is not suggested oil usage.

I complained of this excessive oil consumption back in 2016 when my car was still under motor-plan but Audi Santon told me that the car passed the consumption test and there was no issue. The consumption test was done twice as I did not feel the outcome to be correct and was not properly informed of the 1000km process the first time. I have complained of the issue since and have been repeatedly told by Audi Sandton that my usage is within range. in 2018 I spent in excess of ZAR 35K to consistently fix my car having to take it in almost every 3 weeks to Audi for and was actually told by the service manager that I should just rather purchase a new car?!

This year, I took my car to another mechanic, an ex Audi mechanic to avoid ludicrous dealer service fees, who informed me that this consumption is not, in fact, normal and the A3 was fitted with an incorrect piston and would eventually need to be replaced (ZAR 100k at an Audi dealer!).

Dumbfounded and feeling taken advantage of, I took to Google to search to find this is a common problem on my Audi model and numerous complaints have been made to Audi SA regarding it. As you can imagine I'm was beyond shocked as to why I was kept in the dark about the factory flaw for so long and why it wasn't dealt with purposely when my car was still under the motor plan in 2016.

I decided to approach Audi SA via their website to enquire as to how we collectively solve this factory flaw. It took a week for them to provide me with my response as their consultant simply couldn't receive the proof of ownership certificate file for some reason - forcing me to go to a Postnet to have the document sent. 10 days after my complaint was submitted Audi responded based on the dealer feedback - the oil usage was within the model range in 2016 when the vehicle was condition-to a 1-year limited warranty and 5 years 100 000 freeway plan - whichever came first- and an extended warranty was not bought therefor Audi is under no legal obligation to assist. Furthermore, they refused any goodwill assistance citing that the car is too old and mileage too high and refuted comment on the google complaints and disputed the manufacturing flaw.

As an Audi owner, I am beyond disappointed and as a female, I feel due to my lack of car knowledge I was totally taken advantage of. Clearly these cars don't have value after 5 years. Audi was one of my most loved brands, sadly it won't be my next purchase.
