Audi A1 - Faulty fuel injectors at 60,000km on a diesel?

My wife did (without knowing at the time) her last service under warranty with Audi earlier this year (A1 at 60,000 km after 5 years earlier this year.

At the time she reported that the car was spluttering and it seemed as if it was not firing properly. Audi tested the car and said there was nothing wrong (this was after whatever tests they said they performed).

The car just kept getting worse and so a few months latterly wife returned the car with the same complaint.

Miracles do happen! Miraculously, Audi now discovered that the fuel injectors where faulty and all of them needed to be replaced. Unfortunately two things: 1) the car was now outside the warranty and 2) no one at Audi had told us the warranty had expired - I would have easily extended this.

The cost of fixing the injectors was R45,000!!!!

How coincidental, Audi suddenly understood the problem outside the Warranty period, but could not work this out before?

German diesel cars should not have fuel injector problems after only 60,000 km!!! There is nothing else one needs to say.

As a customer I do not care what Audi says. Know this. Every ounce of trust we ever had in the Audi brand just popped and all the air whooshed out that balloon in an instant. I personally drive a Q5 and will not buy another Audi because of this.

It will cost Audi more in my view. As a customer we were not treated fairly.
