A4 faulty clutch

My A4 clutch has packed up and needs to be replaced. As per previous owners who have experienced the same problem bad driving was quoted by Audi as the cause. Audi has not presented a report indicating that the quality of the clutch was in question. Hence they refuse to replace at their cost. At 45 000km one would never expect to replace a clutch on any vehicle. Least of all on an Audi.
