Vehicle Mileage Misrepresentation
My first time buying experience from Auction Nation has been anything but pleasant.
I bought a 2007 Mercedes-Benz C200 from Auction Nation Durban Branch on April 18, 2018.
As at the time of purchase, the vehicle was listed with a mileage of 103,077KM.
I received the vehicle on April 25, 2018 in Johannesburg and much to my surprise, the mileage on the vehicle is 183,077KM. This is 80,000KM above what was listed.
Returning the vehicle is not an option because I have already incurred transportation, storage and other costs, which will not be refunded.
I have logged several calls with Richard Corfield in Auction Nation’s Durban Branch to complain about this gross misrepresentation of the vehicles mileage.
He has admitted verbally that the fault was from Auction Nation and has twice offered a discount on my next purchase from Auction Nation. However, I am not planning on buying any other vehicle any time soon.
I have requested a rebate on the vehicle’s purchased price which will be more reflective of the vehicles mileage and cover my losses.
I am currently awaiting a response from Richard, who I must state has been very friendly and professional. However, he always seems to be trying to get a hold of his boss who is apparently always, and I mean ALWAYS too busy and virtually unreachable.
Good morning,
We apologise for the inconvenience caused.
Richard said he will call you regarding this matter but he did mention that he will help you on another deal due to this incorrect information.
