I have been on fibre since the rollout almost 8 years ago. I was with one ISP until the last 6 months when I experienced unstable internet. I want to speak to a person and not a bot. Ultimately I decided to cancel and it was a total nightmare. Nowhere in the menus on the bot chat service was a clear indication of where to cancel. Even my account login had nowhere for an option to cancel... I noticed the ****my business practices and after almost 8 years it was said that I need to pay R999 for cancelling and give back my router lol. I went to the waybackmachine and viewed the terms and conditions back then. Nowhere did it show a cancellation after a year and it was a free router after a year, not "free to use". I will be able to write a book. Long story short, it took me a week to cancel.
I have 2 Fibre providers in my area and decided to hop from Vuma to Openserve and choose Atomic Access as the ISP due to reviews. It is quite laughable how bad reviews are for ISP's in general. Only Atomic stood out as the one to go for. Since day one that I have made contact with Atomic I have been guided every step of the way. When in doubt I can pick up the phone and speak to a real person and not a bot. My internet was up and running the last week of the month. I had a dual connection as Vuma with the old ISP was still active until the end of the month. That meant absolutely no downtime and I could take my time to reprogramme my home automation to the new router.
Without testing the difference was evident. The Internet was stable, online gaming people did not yell at me because of poor connection or lag. This is how it should be. If there is a specific use case, query or issue, rest assured Atomic Access will look into it.
Shoutout to all the people at Atomic who assisted me with various questions and detailed email explanations.
