Stay away from ASUS notebook with touch screen

<p>Please people, whatever you do, DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT even look at parting your cash on an ASUS ultra portable notebook (TPL300 series). These units look just like an Apple Macbook on the outside.. BUT that is where the similarity ends.</p> <p> </p> <p>Even though you will spend R12 000 or more on one of these notebooks with a touch screen, the actual value proposition is pathetic. I have only had mine for a year, and during this time, I have been plauged by performance issues and even the machine constantly freezing on me.</p> <p> </p> <p>Finally I took it in to their agents in JHB - Ensure IT Services (they are even worse) who kept my unit for close on a month!! To swap out a hard drive.. really, A MONTH! Once back in my hands, the unit failed to update Windows 10 and completely crashed on me. COMPLETELY!! As in Windows will not boot any longer.</p> <p> </p> <p>So now I sit, no notebook again, and my data trapped without ANY HELP from ASUS or Ensure IT on retreiving it. What kind of rubbinsh service is this? The call centre for ASUS was just rude and offered me 0 help - NONE. The only reply from ASUS was by an Andre Goosen who gave me this lame ass excuree --> </p> <p>Looking at the below, it sounds like something went wrong during the windows upgrade process</p> <p>This could have been caused by various things, such as power going off during installation, no internet connectivity, failed Windows update, etc.</p> <p>Unfortunately, it is impossible to say the exact cause</p> <p> </p> <p>Hello Andre, earth to ASUS, my unit wont boot at all, see how he tried to deny any liability in his reply?</p> <p> </p> <p>So my notebook will have to be booked in once more with Ensure IT who will take I don't know how long to mess me about. From there, I will need to retrieve me data somehow, and then next time I upgrade Windows or any other program what mught happen?? It all shuts down agin?</p> <p> </p> <p>So People, please - go with another brand, I even had a Sumsung laptop many years ago, which I sold off. Guess what, it still works! DO NOT BUY AN ASUS - Trust me, I can confirm that it is not worth it. You risk losing all your data, weeks of work time and quite honestly you do not feel like a well looked after customer.</p> <p> </p> <p>In closing the message is clear, so for the last time --> DO NOT BUY AN ASUS LAPTOP!!</p>
