ASUS - DO NOT TRUST THEIR FINE PRINT!

Warning to anyone thinking of buying an ASUS - DO NOT TRUST THEIR FINE PRINT!! I purchased a beautiful ASUS ZenBook UX305UA core i7 top spec note book at the end of September 2016 as a second PC for when I travel - so it maybe gets used twice a month. Out of the blue, the laptop stopped working in February this year, so I sent it back to Rectron South Africa confident that it would be covered by the 2 year warranty that was sold with the machine. Nearly 2 months down the line and after tons of conflicting information, I am told that the main board has crashed, they can't tell me why as there's no damage to the laptop and unfortunately it cannot be fixed under warranty - I quote "Unfortunately according to Asus, South Africa is one of the countries that is not covered under the 2 year warranty policy.". Never mind that if you use the link on their FB page to get to the SOUTH AFRICAN Asus website, you find the link to my laptop which (again on the South African site) states that it comes with a 2 year warranty :/ I am so upset - I spent a lot of my hard earned money on a top end notebook because Asus is supposedly reliable...
