Asami Cobble Walk, disgraceful
What an absolute disgrace!
My friend and I were in the mood for sushi on the 7th of November and we went to Asami, Cobble Walk. We haven't been there in a while due to the poor service and "salmon" sushi that contains almost no salmon.
Anyway, we decided to give them a try again. Before we ordered two combo 7's from their sushi menu, I asked the waiter what is in the fried sushi. He assured me that it was prawn. I asked him again because I am allergic to crab.
After about 30 minutes, the waiter came with one of our meals and said that the other one is on its way. My friend and I started eating the combo and as I tasted the fried sushi I saw that both portions contained crab. I, at least, did not bite that part. My friend finished that combo and I asked one of the managers to make sure the other combo DOES NOT contain crab. The waiter came back and told me that I did not explain properly. Really?? I asked you twice.
He went back to "make sure" they used prawn. My friend was done eating by this time and I still waited (which I think is utterly poor). Eventually he brought my combo. One of the portions STILL had crab on the top. My friend had to eat those. I tasted the other fried portion and I was astonished to see that there was still crab on the inside. Do they want to kill their customers?? I called the waiter and he actually went so far to say that it WAS prawn. I am sorry, light pink soft fish is not prawn. One can clearly see the difference in texture and colour.
Not only was the sushi wrong but the rest of it did not have a nice taste at all. I understand if a restaurant is busy but why does it have to influence the quality of their sushi? Her combo and mine also differed. I had cream cheese with the sushi while she didn't. I had barbeque sauce on the sushi and she didn't. Where is the consistency?
I think the poor service and lack of communication between waiters , managers and kitchen staff is non-existent. What if I had eaten the sushi without checking first?
No thank you. We will never return to Asami again.
