Unsatisfactory service

It's disheartening to share a negative experience, especially concerning the well-being of a loved one. Unfortunately, our recent visit to the casualty department was far from satisfactory. The attitude of some of the casualty staff was a significant concern. We found their communication style to be rude and, frankly, demeaning, which added unnecessary stress to an already worrying situation. Adding to this impersonal experience, it was notable that most of the casualty staff were not wearing name tags, making it impossible to identify who we were interacting with.

My mother-in-law, who was in casualty, began to shiver due to the cold. When we politely requested a blanket from a nearby nurse, his response was dismissive and he acted as if fulfilling this simple request was an enormous burden. This lack of basic care and empathy was deeply troubling.

While I understand that casualty departments can be high-pressure environments, basic courtesy, attentiveness to patient comfort, and clear identification of staff should be fundamental. Our experience suggests a need for improvement in staff training regarding patient interaction, responsiveness to fundamental needs, and adherence to protocols that ensure staff are easily identifiable. I sincerely hope that future patients receive a more compassionate, respectful, and transparent level of care.
