Malpractice at Arwyp
It is difficult to give this 1-star rating, because I don't believe they deserve even half a star. I came into Arwyp against my will as I was taken by paramedic from OR Thambo to Arwyp. So, I know my kidneys are not in the best of shape, but when I arrived here they were in a lot better condition than now. My kidney function has dropped Dramatically. Why, is still a mystery after nearly being released Tuesday I got a severe Fever from a virus I could only have picked up here, because they do infection tests when I was admitted and I was clear on all tests. How is this possible? I'll tell you. Staff do not sanitize correctly and also don't use clothes in your presence to hand you your medicine which is to be taken orally. Also, troughing urine down the hand wash basins where nurses, doctors and even patients wash their hands and once the urine is discarded, he puts back the pot at my bed, not washing his hands and continues to write his report on the file. So, in short, transmission of virus from one to another through a nurse. WOW!!!!! Supposed to be healing here, not to pick up super viruses from *********** nursing staff. I am taking this further as my health is deteriorating due to my kidneys now being almost completely dysfunctional. Look SOME doctors here are great and the facilities is good, but there is a massive problem with Most of the Nursing staff and Some doctors when it comes to communication of medicine and procedures and action. This incompetency of lack of want and will do, will set back your health. Wrong place to play with people's lives when you sign oaths to save lives. Very contradicting. I believe the 1 particular nurse that I pointed out to the Unit manager, should never be able to nurse or come close to another patient in my opinion ever again. If I find out, he is still nursing there I will take this higher. I need confirmation that this will never happen to another human being in that hospital by *********** nursing staff. My question is why do this? Why endanger someone else's life for being lazy and just getting your 12-hour shift done. Nursing is supposed to be a passion not a punishment to pay your bills. People lives are at stake here. My entire Life has now been turned upside down. I have people looking up to me, I am an industry leader in my field and now, now I am fighting to stay sane and struggling to find motivation just to smile. So if you feel like contracting a virus while in hospital recovering from something completely different than what you went in for then book yourself in at Arwyp. Don't worry this was not my final letter of complaint
