Nurses should be careful not to put things they use on patients in their pockets as they might be prone to reuse them and this is not safe nor is it good practice. Placing adhesive/ gauze on one's clothing or anywhere on your person like your skin that will be transferred to a patient's open wound or needle puncture is not safe practice and can only serve to promote the spreading of diseases. Using one's mouth to cut adhesive to use to secure gauze that goes over an opening on a patient means you are transferring your body fluids to the patient and if you are sick you might give them what you have or aggravate what they have with your gems. I have observed this with some nurses in casualty. Hygiene and safety should be paramount when administering patient care. The hospital has some good traits and that is what makes it preferable to government hospitals but due to some of the negligent behaviour of some staff, it would not be hard for a patient to seek the services from a competitor that is as geographically convenient as this hospital.
