Dr don't care
Good Day,
On the 2nd March 2019, my father was rushed to ARWYP as a private patient on arrival at ARWYP he was checked by the casulty Dr, my family was informed that he had a mild heart attack and need to be moved upstairs to the Surgical ICU, my family agreeded my family was then told they ned to go admissions and fill out forms and payment to our suprise my sister in law was told that they needed a deposit of R300 000 for my dad care, thank you lord my sister in law paid the amount. The family was then told that my father was gonna need a operation (stent in the heart) which will be done on Monday , Monday come no operation , I was told by a nurse that we need to call pay an Amount of R15 000 for my dd to do an anagram, I Called the family and we agreed that we go-ahead which I gave the go-ahead, I was then told that the operation would take place on the Wednesday, (please note the longer we wait the more we pay at a private clinic) wednesday came and no operation, please note that in the time frame dad in hospital not one Dr called to speak to the family but we got emailed a bill of R20 000 for Dr Foccart, on Thursday dad was discharged with no explanation on what we need to do, a paper was given to my family that he needs to visit Dr Kowlkzyk in Benoni, which informed me that we need to take my father to Johannesburg General Hospital for an operation as we are private clinic and the operation he needs to have done is costly R600 000 to a mil that it can set the family back, so my complaint is that if you see that we are private patient why was the family not called to see the Dr that was treating him in ARWYP and given options why did ARWYP not stabilise my dad and transfer him to JHB Gen Hospital. we now have been up and down to JHB Gen and awaiting for operation. I am discussed in the manner that ARWYP handles there patients, you had no right to decided if the family could afford the bill or not, your fancy looking cafe shop and entrance has no justice to your patients service, all Dr and employees at ARWYP need to go back and learn the basics of communication.
