Arwyp - No Refunds?

I was admitted to Arwyp in September. The staff were wonderful and ward was in excellent condition.

While there, my surgeon decided I needed to have a scope, which required a co-payment. I dutifully went to admissions and paid R4550 into my account to cover it.

Later that afternoon, my scope was cancelled, and we proceeded with another diagnostic route.

When I was discharged, I went to admissions, filled out a refund request and was told I would be refunded in 7 - 14 days. I strictly said no for this money to be used for any other use and that I wanted a full refund.

A few days ago I received a statement showing that the hospital had used the R4 550 to pay for my bed. When queried, I was told that I will get my refund when my medical aid paid the hospital. I followed up and received no response.

It has now been almost a month, the hospital has been paid for my stay by my medical aid, and I still do not have my money back.

This is unacceptable.
