Arwyp Medical Centre Refusing Responsibility for Incorrect Coding – Demanding They Fix the Error

I am posting this because Arwyp Medical Centre is refusing to take responsibility for their own administrative and coding errors relating to my recent spinal surgery.

Discovery Health has provided me with a full, detailed breakdown of what happened during my authorisation process. Their report shows very clearly that the problem started with Arwyp’s incorrect and incomplete coding submissions.

Instead of acknowledging this, Arwyp has given me a letter shifting the blame onto my doctor — even though the coding and submission process is the hospital’s responsibility, not the surgeon’s.

The hospital:

Submitted incorrect or incomplete codes

Updated the admission incorrectly

Failed to send the proper surgical codes on time

Proceeded with surgery without ensuring authorisation was in place

Then blamed my doctor when Discovery declined

Because of Arwyp’s mistakes, I am now facing a massive bill for a medically necessary surgery — a bill that should have been covered if the hospital had done their job correctly.

I am not asking for explanations. I am asking Arwyp to:

1. Correct the coding immediately

2. Resubmit the correct codes to Discovery

3. Take responsibility for the error

4. Ensure that Discovery pays for the surgery that I legitimately required

I will not accept being held financially accountable for an error caused entirely by Arwyp’s administrative failures. I expect the hospital to act with integrity, correct the coding, and resolve this urgently with Discovery.

This situation has caused me unnecessary stress during an already difficult recovery, and Arwyp needs to step up and fix the mistake they created.
