Any public hospital would be safer.

I have a full working career of customer facing service and operations. My career does not hide behind a customer care department or call centre. If I have a service failure, I have the customer in front of me and need to work out a means of customer satisfaction as well as representing my company in a good way. My position entails, a resolution needs to be found in 20 mins not 20 days.

The most recent experience between Discovery, Arwyp hospital and especially Dr Tsakane has been horrific. If I wasn't for me to help the family and try and get it resolved, nothing would have been done. The problem is that the due to the main member being in hospital, no one wanted to help. A

So for the breakdown of everything.

Dr. Hajimakos

The patient was taken the Saturday morning after fainting. He lost balance and felt extremely light headed. On arrival she immediately suspected a stroke under which she provided a letter for Arwyp and made them aware with a letter that the patient has had a suspected stroke and therefore rushed through to casualties.

Arwyp Hospital

On arrival, he was immediately assisted and taken through. Documentation had to be completed as this was the first time of admission to the hospital. The hospital called the medical aid Discovery to gain authorisation for admission into hospital but declined irrespective of this being an emergency. Note, that as per the discovery automated service, 'in case of emergency, go straight to the hospital'. His wife had to sign an Acknowledgement of Debt of R50000 for the hospital to keep the patient in hospital.

The doctor failed in her professional duty and her oath to perform her duties in every manner. She is a complete joke. She did not keep the patient or the family up to date with the patients' health. She did not recommend a a means forward with the the patient moving forward to regain his health. She was requested to complete a form for the medical as they required the merits of the admission. The authorisation that appeared on the medical aid app stated non-emergency noting that this was completed as her information passed on to the Arwyp data capturing and MEDICAL AID submission. She was never available for any phone calls; we understand that her personal assistant failed to have her get her into contact with us and this had prolonged the admission. She has not prescribe the correct medication and due to the patient identifying to her about the heart valve issue,

Madelyne, from the accounts department of Arwyp, went to the patient who has suffered the stroke was threatened to be thrown out of the hospital due to medical aid information received from the doctors failure to assist with authorisation for admission as well as further tests to be done. If they do not pay immediately R50000, to a patient that suffered a stroke. Why would you do such a thing? And due to this, the R50000 was paid and no communication was made after that as to the refund due to the medical aid covering the bill from the authorisation.

Note the admission was on Saturday 5 September, the Authorisation came through only late the Wednesday 9 September. After this, for each and every procedure that had to be done, the hospital was contacting the family for a new authorisation code. The Cardiologist was only able to see the patient on the Friday. These are two key scans that needs to be taken for a stroke patient as soon as possible for the detecting the key cause of it all. The Cardiologist has forwarded the information all onto Dr Tsakane who yet has not given any information as to cause, medication to be prescribed, scans to show the cause and only thing mentioned was the it was caused by a valve in the heart. Dr Grigerov was the Cardiologist seen and results sent to the doctor.

So therefore, to conclude, Dr Tsakane has provided the patient and the family with no information of cause, any results, any scans, any follow up date and important, no GP or Physician to do a follow up.

The only medication prescribed from Arwyp was for blood thinners, panados and cholesterol. Nothing for the heart. and funny enough, rehabilitation was recommended at Midstream.

Importantly, there is still plenty of information outstanding however, upon request, each day of this entire situation will be discussed in the required detail.
