MyPharmacy / Arrie Nel

I am absolutely disgusted and deeply disappointed with the treatment my family and I received today. We have been loyal customers for years, renewing our Schedule 5 medication every 30 days. Sometimes I collect it, sometimes my wife does. Yet today, your pharmacist arrogantly told me that he has been there for 30 days and has never seen me before as if that somehow discredits our long-standing support of your pharmacy. Of course he hasn’t seen me every time, because my wife often fetches our medication. That statement was not only ******** it was dismissive and insulting. First my wife was spoken to disrespectfully, and then I was treated the same way while trying to collect our son’s script. I was spoken down to, told to “know the law,” and addressed with sheer condescension. I am fully aware of KYC and prescription regulations but there is a professional way to communicate with people, and then there is arrogance. What we experienced today was nothing but arrogance and humiliation. Your website allows customers to upload prescriptions from their doctors yet, a WhatsApp script sent to me from a Doctor is unacceptable, and instead must be sent directly to you? Policy is not the issue the manner in which it was communicated is the problem. The ladies in your pharmacy have always been kind, respectful, and a pleasure to deal with. But this new individual with a clear chip on his shoulder after just 30 days, has undone about 20 years of goodwill in minutes. He must take some lessons from the Ladies to keep his attitude in check.

Let me be very clear: it is the community that keeps your doors open. Yet today, we were treated as an inconvenience, not as valued customers. After years of loyalty and support, I will never return and I will make sure others are aware of how we were spoken to. You did not lose us because of policy. You lost us because of attitude. I could easily go to Dischem, but I have always chosen to support local. Costa, the original owner, would never have treated people this way. Today, you lost a loyal family not because of rules, but because of disrespect.
