Bad and *********** service

My car was regularly serviced by Arnold Chatz Jeep from the time i purchased it.

A jeep Wrangler - CK 77 PW GP

In November 2016, i took my car in for it's regular service. Then two weeks later as i was driving it began overheating. i managed to drive it to the Arnold Chattz Jeep Contantia branch and left it there for assessment asnd report back.

It took about a week for my car to be checked, and in that time i had to beg and grovel for a courtesy car, i was eventually given one after i really unfortunately had to call often and be demanding.

The result of the assessment of my car was that i had to pay in just over R20 000 because my maintenance plan had expired. I explained to them that i had taken out an extended warranty when i bought my car at the Fourways branch, and that they should please check with that dealership as i could not locate the paperwork anymore.

They confirmed that they had checked everywhere including head office and there was no trace of an extended warranty, i was even told that it may have run parallel with the motor plan, and therefore they had both expired. I was quite disappointed as i had believed that i had purchased a warranty of an extended two years. The result of this document not existing was that i had to then pay the quote out of my own pocket, which i did.

The work on took so much longer than expected, i was without a car for atleast 4weeks from the time i dropped it off in December 2016.

I collected my car in January, only to have it overheating again two weeks later, exactly the same problem as if it had never been repaired. When i took it back to them, it came back with a new diagnosis and quotation of very general possible causes, which amounted to just over R66 000. I was then expected to pay this out of my pocket again. When i asked what had been repaired the previous time, and why it was still breaking down the same way, there was no proper explanation. i just kept on being encouraged to pay this exorbitant amount for more vague repairs. In this time i had to beg and grovel for another loan car, and while i was still demanding a sensible answer for the breakdwon of my car after the repairs, i was often put under pressure about needing to return the loan car as well.

I opted to collect the car and take it for a second opinion at another dealership. When i went to the Sadnton dealearship, the first thing they found on the system, is the extended 2 year warranty that i had taken out when i purchased the car. On inspection of the diagnosis and quotations i had received for the repairs, they also agreed that it was VERY general. almost as if i was being quoted to repair every possible thing that could go wrong, instead of finding the actual problem.

On finding out about the existing extended warranty paperwork, i went back to Arnold Chatz Constantia and asked them to please refund me personally for the R20 000 i paid them, and claim it from MOTORITE.

All my phonecalls and emails have been ignored. Only on two calls, did they acknowldedge receiving my emails and promising to call me back. But still not joy.

I am obviously livid and find this unacceptable. I am not interested in the inner workings of why they couldnt find this information of my extended warranty and ended up pressuring me into paying it out of my pocket, all i require is to be refunded for that payment please.

I was dealing with Stephan De Beer, who was also consulting his superviser at the time.

Thank you

Pula Twala

********** 847
