Use APMWC Bus Services at Your Own Risk

The bus arrived 8hrs late. The bus was meant to pick us up in Cape Town 6:30pm, we only left at 2am. They didn’t communicate anything.

They ****med people to pay for luggage stating that their policy says 10kg per passenger instead of the 22kg that was written on our tickets so we had to pay for all luggage above 10kg.

Four people had no seats so they begged people with small children to sit on laps despite them having paid for their children’s seats.

I woke up to screams around 10am because apparently the bus driver was falling asleep at the wheel and people had to beg him to stop the bus and swap with the other driver. He initially refused & he was furious but eventually he let the second driver drive.

Majority of the people on the bus live in remote areas in Eastern Cape that are far out of the towns, its currently 5:53pm we are still on the bus and the bus has made no arrangements to assist us to get to the villages safely despite being the cause of this extreme lateness.

I have no experienced this level of disrespect and the undignified manner in which black people were treated by APMWC staff members throughout this ordeal. It is appalling and deeply disturbing. This business needs to go under review, it is poorly managed and consequently adversely affects marginalized groups of black people which are the people that it services. It is a safety hazard to black people.
