Bus ticket
I bought a return ticket on the 21-03-2020 to Queenstown but due to lock down busses were not operating. I tried calling and what's up them after lock down with no help. Finally yesterday the 08-06-2020 I managed to get hold of them on *** at 9:03am and spoke to Asemahle who said they will not refund my money back but have to use the ticket to travel. I was OK with that and asked her to change the ticket to my husbands name as I will no longer travel and she agreed. She asked me to email details to *** and I did this morning.
I called in at 11:38am to follow up and spoke to Asemahle again who said I need to add R195 for the trip because busses went up to catch for the loss due to lock down. I said I did not have R195 rather refund my money back as I do not have any extra funds. Her response was there is nothing they can do and the ticket is valid for 30 days and its either I add the R196 or forfeit my ticket. I would understand if this is a new ticket but now I bought the ticket long ago and should be able to travel without any additions as it was not my fault and the said part is there was no communication from them before lockdown I had to follow and call them for my ticket or money.
Kindly advise what rights do I have and what can be done to sort this out as I feel its only far to let me travel with the old ticket with no additions as its not my fault. I understand that their business lost money but recovering their money by robbing people its not fair.
Kind regards Zimkita Cewana ***
