Dumbstruck
I'm so speechless right now, on 22nd May a power surge destroyed my electrical appliances. I made contact with City Power and was told to file a claim. Went through the daunting process of submitting all the necessary documentation and only to be told that my claim will be rejected due to the cause of the power surge being vandalism. How was I supposed to know that cause of power surge was theft or vandalism, I simply want my items to be replaced. I implore AON and City Power to review this matter and as a gesture of good faith aid me in someway in replacing my damaged electrical items. Please look into helping a consumer instead of finding ways to reject their claims.

08 Jun 2018, 09:34I will escalate this matter to Mr Herman Mashaba and the Public Protectors office. This sought of matter has previously been ruled on and in favor of the consumer. The theft of cables and vandalism at the sub-station is not a new occurrence and should have been addressed by City Power thus leaving CIty Power liable for the damages inflicted. Please contact me so we can resolved this amicably
