AON SOUTH AFRICA

Terrible experience so-far. Refuse to replace or pay out an one of 3/10 bronze sculpture after it was broken during a household moving company. They prefer to repair it. Who on earth repair an art piece with investment value? The value will never be the same again. This will now cause me to follow the path to the Adjudicator and a civil legal action. I paid R12000 for only the insurance during this move and the piece was noted on the list. Why then not cover correctly? Any one else having the same bad experience with AON? I’ll never recommend them for insurance purposes and will advice the moving company, Biddulphs as such as AON is appointed by them.

I'm still waiting the response of AON, but in the meantime the bronze sculpture was delivered to a representative in Great Brak River without my knowledge after it was badly glued together. Yes, glued together!!!!! No professional bronze artist would ever use glue for repairs and we still don't know who has repaired the art piece. This is so insane and unbelievable from a professional insurance company like AON, it feels like a bad joke. Wish I could place the pictures for the public to see. Why did I then pay such a high fee of R12000 for a once off household move without any electronics or electrical equipment? All artists and relevant parties must be informed about this unacceptable way of treating artwork by AON.
