Test results-self referral

Gosh…what frustrating experience I had with Ampath. They say they allow self referrals only to be told stories when you want your results. I did my test and paid cash for it, completed the test form that I received from them as I was not referred by the Dr. I kept checking their useless app, my results not there. I call their call centre and I’m told results are ready but they’ll only be available on the app 24hrs later. But they were sent to my Dr on the same day I did the test, which is shocking to me because I was not referred by my Dr I was just asked if I mind if my results are shared with my Dr which I said I didn’t. I’m told I must contact my Dr if I want them. Why are my results sent to my Dr before being sent to me. I did self referral and paid I should be the first person to access my results. I’m also told I must go to the depot where I did the test they’ll print them out for me. I asked them to email results to me, they are refusing because their stupid policy doesn’t allow, I must collect a print out. Lord…is this 1970.

With other labs I’ve been able to access my results on the app same day I did the test, even if I’m referred by the Dr. And they’ve even emailed my results to me.

Useless and appalling customer service.
