Test results lost in the system

My wife and I were required to go for COVID 19 test results so that we she can be admitted into a COVID 19 free maternity ward and I am able to accompany her for the delivery of our first child. On Tuesday we had done our test by 08:30am already. It is now Thursday Evening 13 hours before we are to be admitted to find out that my wife’s test had been sent to JHB for testing where I already have my result. We sat in the same car and was tested by the same person. How does 1 sample go to Cpt for testing and the other to JHB?? This is beyond disappointing and extremely unprofessional the first question that comes to mind. Can you even trust the system now? Ampath is to be disgusted the the “quality” service they promise. One cannot even express the frustration that goes with this such a critical time and such a critical situation the birth of a child is now delayed because of Ampath misplacing a test and cannot provide the result.
