Stay away.

Stay away from ampath if you are a cash paying customer. My doctor drew blood for tests and submitted them to Ampath on my behalf. At the doctor's office I requested to pay in cash for the blood tests as my medical aid does not cover out of hospital tests. I was informed that I had to put my medical aid details on the form or Ampath would not process the blood work but that I would receive an account for the cash amount from them and should pay them directly. However Ampath is charging me the higher medical aid rates and not cash rates and refuses to listen to reason, forcing me to pay more than I should be paying. Absolutely unfair as I did everything I should have to ensure I should be paying cash rates. Unhelpful staff.
