Poor service from accounts department.
Service from Ampath Accounts department was very poor. A claim was submitted to my Medical aid for in Hospital tests. The claim was rejected by my Medical aid because the tests were apparently not ordered on the correct form. (Medical aid informed me that I am not liable and should not pay). Ampath started threatening me with the unpaid account. I indicated that I am not liable. Ampath advised I should obtain a letter of motivation from the specialist for the tests ordered. I did this. Still received threatening letters. I followed up on progress of the claim, Ampath said it was rejected. Ampath accounts clerk **** because the paper claim and letter of motivation was never resubmitted ( I get notifications when claims are submitted), but it is just easier to threaten members to pay than actually follow up on payments from funds!!!!I managed to get through to a manager (after battling for 9 months) and the manager managed to get the claim paid. ????? Why, because she actually bothered to resubmit the claim. (Ampath awaiting payment from Medical aid - payment run confirmed). Manager assured me that I will not be handed over. I RECEIVED A LETTER FROM ITC THREATENING TO HAND ME OVER TODAY???. Sent confirmation through again today that Medical aid has paid. Ampath again confirmed that process of handing over is on hold. I AM LIVID,REALLY. I can easily pay this account of R1700 but I fear that when Ampath wakes up and allocates the payment from Momentum that I will also battle to get refunded for 9 months.
